A scenic ride through an isolated section of the Ochoco National Forest. This ride is nearly all gravel, with an excellent 9 mile climb at a moderate grade. It’s an excellent ride to spot antelope and wild mustangs. It’s usually so remote that you will give a big “howdy” wave to any traffic. But sometimes this area gets discovered and you will run across campers.

**Adventure / Gravel Route

– Loop: 35 miles / 2900 ft gain
– Mixed route: 1 gravel sector (29 miles long / @ mile 5)
– Location: Post, OR (25 miles south east of Prineville)

For intermediate adventure / gravel riders.

**The Start

The Post General store, Highway 380, 25 miles south east of Prineville. Park at the far eastern end of the parking lot. This is a private parking lot, so it is imperative that you get permission from the store management to park there (see Stefanie). Also, for the courtesy or parking there, I recommend getting a ball cap or one of their shakes!

**Food / Water

None along the route.
