(The) Unknown Coast 5 Star

This is a difficult ride with …. poor road conditions, some dirt, steep climbs and descents, wind, fog, and heat. But this is what makes the ride great, it is epic … and the views are terrific.

Ride it south to north. In the summer start at about 9 am, so that the initial climb is not too hot and then when you hit the coast, hopefully the fog will have lifted.

Water can be found at the two towns along the way. I recommend that you get water at each.

Notes:
(1) I recommend 28 mm tires or fatter for this ride with lower pressure. Personally, I like to do this ride on my Adventure Bike with 32 mm tires.

(2) This ride has very limited cell phone reception.

(3) This ride can also be done as a loop, see the following link: northcoastbikerides.blogspot.com/search/label/Tour of the Unknown Coast
