A ride that will make you smile! Not too difficult, not too easy. Some road and some very wide single track in McDowell Mountain park. 95% of the single track is smooth and rolling. Pure bliss on an adventure / gravel bike. If you are new to gravel riding you may want to walk your bike a few hundred yards in the western section of Pemberton. For more experienced riders, the rocks will be just a “blip”.

I’ve been riding daily at McDowell Mt Regional Park for several months now, and E-bikes ARE permitted within the park boundaries. In fact, since November I’ve noticed an almost 50-50 mix of E-bikes vs traditional bikes. Perhaps you mistook the E-bike ban just outside the park which is applied to the McDowell-Sonoran Preserve managed by the city of Scottsdale? E-bikes are banned there, which also incorporates the amazing trails within the Brown’s Ranch trail system just north and west of McDowell MRP.
Thanks for the info. Two things: 1) We have updated the site base on your info. 2) We would really like to update this route (change it a bit) and add a second route that goes into Brown’s. Would you be willing to work with us on that project? We need pictures, some descriptive elements and some editorial review. Thanks!! KevinE / Routes and Technologies with DF
Hi Kevin! Just saw your reply to my comment from last March ?. We’d be happy to help with a route in and around Browns Ranch. We ride there a lot, often starting at McDowell which makes for a good 30-40 mile ride. Or we start at one of the 3 TH at Browns. Either way we are here through April 2021, then back home to Central Oregon. Happy to take on a project with you!
